The law on the purchase of property by foreigners from Turkey was adopted in 2012. Foreign investors may purchase commercial property or property in Turkey provided that they comply with the legal restrictions. When foreigners buy a property that does not have a structure such as land, fields, they need to present the project to the relevant ministry for approval within a maximum of two years. Can foreigners buy property in Turkey?

Foreigners can buy property in Turkey but it is covered some limitations. These limitations are as follows:

·      Even though in different cities, a foreign person shall not exceed the total area of 30 hectares can buy real estate in Turkey.

·      Permission should be obtained from the military authorities in the region.

·      If the real estate is located in the security zone, foreigners cannot sell. Therefore, you must investigate this before you pay.

Documents required buying property in Turkey

·      Identity documents or passports

·      The residence permits obtained from the relevant police directorates of the foreigners subject to the residence permit
