The law on the purchase of property by foreigners from Turkey was adopted in 2012. Foreign investors may purchase commercial property or property in Turkey provided that they comply with the legal restrictions. However, even if each of them is in different cities, the total face measurement of real estate in Turkey cannot exceed 30 hectares. How to buy property in Turkey?

Foreigners are not required to obtain residence permit in order to have property in our country. When foreigners buy a property that does not have a structure such as land, fields, they need to present the project to the relevant ministry for approval within a maximum of two years. The foreigner who buys property in Turkey, can get the title deed at the end of the process which takes 1-2 months on average.

Can foreigners buy property in Turkey?

Foreigners can buy property in Turkey but it is covered some limitations. These limitations are as follows:

·      Even though in different cities, a foreign person shall not exceed the total area of 30 hectares can buy real estate in Turkey.

·      Permission should be obtained from the military authorities in the region.

·      If the real estate is located in the security zone, foreigners cannot sell. Therefore, you must investigate this before you pay.

Documents required buying property in Turkey

Foreigners want to buy property in Turkey, in their application to the land registry office the following documents are needed:

·      Identity documents or passports

·      The residence permits obtained from the relevant police directorates of the foreigners subject to the residence permit
